Further Beyond The Sea (October 2009)

FURTHER BEYOND THE SEA - THE SURF INSTRUMENTAL BANDS OF THE WORLD MIRACULOUSLY EXTEND THEIR REPERTOIRE.

Cordelia Records just released the follow-up to their great "Beyond The Sea" compilation. It's called "Further Beyond The Sea" and it's a compilation of 22 instrumental surf music bands doing their versions of famous songs released after 1990. Surfadelica contributed "The Modern Way", the hit song by the Kaiser Chiefs.

It was recorded exclusively for this compilation. It was our second recording, from 2006, so it's a very pleasant surprise to us.

For those interested in listening to bits of every song on it, you can view it on the CD Baby page for the disc: Further Beyond The Sea on CD Baby.

You can buy the CD or the mp3 album there too. Or visit the Cordelia Records page.

BRAZILIAN SURF A-GO-GO: THE ATTACK OF THE TIKI WAVES VOL.1

This is a compilation documenting the instrumental surf music scene in Brazil. It was only released on the Vinyl LP format by the Portugueses label Groovie Records at the end of 2007.

It was the first time a Surfadelica track has been officially released, "Questionable Navigation" (early version).

This LP is already out of catalogue but you can buy one copy directly from us. Just use our contact email: SURFADELICA EMAIL.

There are 20 tracks in total, including one track by Los Tornados, the other surf music project by guitarrist Carlos and drummer Fabio McCoy.

This project was conceived and produced by Gabriel Thomas, leader of Autoramas and includes tracks by Los Pirata, Ambervisions, Estrume'n'tal, Pazuzus, among many others.

A great introduction to the always active scene in Brazil!

Beatles' 69 vol.2 - O Outro Lado da Abbey Road (2009)

BEATLES '69 - VOL.2 - O OUTRO LADO DA ABBEY ROAD

A great idea: to revisit the entire works of the Beatles in 1969.

To this goal producer Marcelo Fróes invited 63 Brazilian artists and bands to reinterpret the songs on the "Abbey Road", "Get Back" and "Let It Be" albums and all the other songs that weren't released until now except on bootlegs and others that were used on the band members on the their post-Beatles solo albums.

The Surfadelica track is "Hot As Sun", um unreleased Beatles outtake, but later released on Paul McCartney's first solo album.

Review by the Coquetel Moloto online magazine (in portuguese) HERE!

The Surfadelica track is on the 2nd CD named "O Outro Lado da Abbey Road" (or "The Other Side Of Abbey Road"). It can be ordered from great record stores like SARAIVA and SUBMARINO.

Album Branco (2008)

ÁLBUM BRANCO

The Brazilian label Discobertas/Coqueiro Verde just released a Brazilian tribute to the Beatles's "White Album". It features 30 Brazilian artists and bands giving the songs a new interpretation.

All the songs are on the original order and features names like Cachorro Grande, Pato Fu, Autoramas among many others.

Surfadelica is in it playing "Why Don't We Do It In The Road", with a surf beat.

By now it's only available in Brazil in great chain stores like:

AMERICANAS and FNAC.

Don't Stop Now - Um Tributo ao Guided By Voices (2009)

DON'T STOP NOW - UM TRIBUTO AO GUIDED BY VOICES (Setembro de 2009)

31 Brazilian bands revisit the Guided By Voices repertoire.

It was released on the CDR format by the Brazilian Transfusão Noise records and it includes tracks by Kid Vinil Xperience and Continental Combo, other two bands featuring guitarrista Carlos Nishimiya.

Surfadelica recorded a vastly rearranged version of "Alright" (from the Guided By Voices LP, "Alien Lanes")
